The Dragons win and didn’t they mess up Tipster’s tipping.
Dragons Beat Broncos

The Dragons notched up their first win of the season against reigning Premiers(x1) Broncos.
Most didn’t see this coming, but the warning signs were there.
The Broncos are the team Dragons supporters would want to play every week. Going into this game the Dragons had won 8 of the last 10 matches.
For me, I knew the Dragons team were a chance on the Broncos first attacking play when Adam Reynolds attempted to score a try with a grubber kick to himself. This is when the Broncos are at their worst taking shortcuts without earning the right to score points and it was evident throughout the first half.
When the Dragons led 30-8, the game was as good as over. The eight points flattered the Broncos with a penalty goal after the halftime siren and an intercept try after the break.
The Broncos scored three tries in the last 15 minutes to mimic the result from last season. Those three tries would normally be enough for victory here.
Tigers Win

This was highly entertaining and my match of the round. The Wests Tigers fans also enjoyed the game reminding Lachlan Galvin how much they missed him every time he touched the ball.
The Tiges were in total control leading 16-nil until the Bulldogs scored either side of halftime. But it was the defensive effort of the Tigers that impressed me the most. It was reminiscent of the Raiders last year.
The Bulldogs try scoring woes continued. Much like the Dragons, they struggle to get past the three try mark. The Doggies had so much redzone possession and could not convert this into points.
Bulldogs coach Ciraldo was quick to deflect this and focus on Josh Curren’s no try after regathering a charge down and scoring in the corner.
“Maybe the charge down is gone,” Ciraldo said.
“Josh charged the ball down first, was chasing down the kick and then Jarome’s foot hit him.”
Lui didn’t kick Curren. Curren made illegal contact with the kickers leg which is always a penalty.
In Other Games

The Storm were too good against the much-fancied Chooks in Melbourne and take another small step to playing finals football again this year
The Raiders were impressive against the Cowboys. Imagine the final score if Ethan Sanders kicked more than 1/6.
I switched off the so-called match of the round between the top two, Panthers and Warriors, as soon as I learnt the Panthers were resting Cleary, Yeo and To’o. I will try again in Round 23.

The Standout
Just 18% correct this week.
The Dragons had to win eventually but not many people gave them a chance this round. That’s 39 Tipsters that went down with the Broncos.
Interestingly, there were a few Dragon supporters who got their standout right.
Tipster MLC‘s run of four in a row has come to an end after selecting the Broncos this week.
