Round 20 has plenty of interesting match ups. Is it Risk v Reward time for you Tipster?
Thursday Night Football
The round starts with 1st placed former premiers(x4) Panthers v 14th premiers(x1) Broncos. The Panthers may have dropped a couple of games over the last month, but the Broncos haven’t had a win since Round 8 against the Bulldogs.
That’s 12 weeks ago.
On paper this is an obvious selection. But beware, the Broncos have the whole brigade returning this week.
Reynolds, Walters, Mam, Karapani, Carrigan, Haas, Walsh.
Will this be the Panthers revenge for what the Broncos did to them in last year’s preliminary final?
Or will the rest of the competition glance over the shoulder and wonder what’s coming?
I think the Panthers will make a statement here.
Friday Night Football
The Sharks take on the Knights in the early game, but which Sharkies and Knights teams are showing up? Both are so inconsistent. The Sharks come off a 66-0 hammering of the Dolphins last week. Maybe they scored all this round’s points last week?
Sharkies at home.
Next it’s the Roosters against a Munster/Hughes-less Storm. This will be so one-sided, it’s a Standout candidate.
Super Saturday
The Raiders v Rabbitohs game is the hardest to pick this week. The Raiders have a terrible record at home. Likewise, the Rabbitohs away.
It is so close, the betting agencies and their punters can’t split them.
But I think there is a hare in it.
The final game is anything but close. The Wah’s will be too much to handle for the Dragons but us Drags fans will be hopeful of an upset here. Standout at your peril.
Sunday Football
The final two matches of the round features three Queensland teams and Manly so I could understand people skipping the next few lines and going straight to The Experts Tips below.
It’s Foz’s Sea Eagles up against the team Foz played for last year. I’m picking the Sea Eagles here just so the Dragons have the Titans to chase in the Spoon bowl.
In the final game for Round 20, can the Dolphins bounce back from a 0-66 thrashing against the Cowboys? They sit 7th and 8th and equal on points. The result of this game will be huge for one team and their chances of making the top 4.
