Round 10 Preview and Tips

Coming off a perfect round, watch me crash back to earth with my tips for Round 10.

This round looks straight forward but there are some interesting matchups this week.

The round kicks off once again with the Bulldogs v [insert Qld team] and ends with the competition leaders Panthers.

Thursday Night Football

The Dolphins host the Bulldogs. The Doggies have only made minor changes to their line-up that’s been dominated over the last month. They need to be at their defensive best in this game to be any chance. The ‘Phins have 20+ point in them which will be too much for the Dogs to handle.

Friday Night Football

We start with the Roosters v Titans at Gosford before heading up to North Queensland for the Cowboys v Eels.

Both games will be one-sided. I give the Titans no chance. The Chooks are my standout this week. While the Eels need Mitch Moses to have one of those games and hope the Cows also have one of those games (the other way) to have a chance.

Super Saturday

This looks more interesting.

We have the Knights that were outstanding for 40 minutes last week against the Dragons who have had two weeks to prepare for this match in Wollongong.

When you look at a team that has replaced their coach it’s usually the second game that they win. This is the Dragons second game under Coach Deano. This will be closer than people predict. The Dragons have young gun Kade Reed ready to go again and will need to break their try scoring ceiling and post 20+ to win here. I will cheer with my heart but tip with my brain.

Knights to win.

The Rabbitohs v Sharks is the game of the round.

The Bunnies are big scorers even in defeat take on the Sharks who posted 52 against the Wests Tigers last week. But the Rabbitohs aren’t the Wests Tigers and even without Jack Wighton will be too strong here.

The final match is a 4 Pines Park with the resurgent Sea Eagles v injury plagued Broncos.

The Broncos are minus three more players with Adam Reynolds, Kotoni Staggs and Deine Mariner out this week. But they still have Reece Walsh, Pat Carrigan, Ezra Maam and maybe, Ben Hunt returning. This is going to be a cracker of a game. Manly have the wood over the Broncos at Brookvale with the Premiers(x1) last win back when the Mighty Dragons last won the comp (2010 if you need to know).

I have picked the Sea Eagles but think the Broncos are a big chance here.

Sunday Football

Surely, surely, this is the game the Storm will win. At home against an injury/suspension plagued Wests Tigers. Surely.

The round finishes off at the nation’s capital with Ethan Strange returning for the Raiders who had a good win last week against the Titans. This game is also a lot closer the people expect and I think the Raiders have a good chance here. But I’m still sticking with the Panthers this week.
