Golden try. Big guns win. Upsets and we have new leaders.
The big guns flexed in games that are prequels of what we will witness in the finals.
The Storm beat the Panthers in golden point. The Roosters showed they had too much momentum against the Bulldogs while the competition leaders, the Raiders, had their final bye of the season.
This sets up a huge Friday Night Football with:
- Panthers v Raiders @ Mudgee
- Storm v Bulldogs @ AAMI Melbourne
Grand Final Rematch/Preview

The Premiers(4x) Panthers and Storm showed why they are still the teams to beat with a golden point classic.
Both teams grabbed their opportunities when they arose until the final few minutes of field goal attempts.
Nothing split them and next week’s matches will really show where they stand in the competition.
As for the golden try, that was amazing to watch and very funny to see the entire Panthers defensive line rush pass the man with the ball. Harry Grant’s smoke and mirrors dummy was the same play Nathan Fien scored against the Chooks in the Dragons GF win of 2010.
Which leads nicely into my segway.
Dragons Knocked Out

Those brave Dragons almost showed up the Wah’s at home having three forwards knocked out in the first half and out of next week’s match v the Rabbitohs.
The Warriors hit the lead but it was a final rush by Dragons 18th man, Tyrell Sloan, that almost stole the show. Making a clean break, Sloan looked confused with options. I’m sure every Dragons supporter was yelling “just run” at their TV sets.
This is the Dragons eighth loss by six points of less and shows they are missing that key player to ice some of these matches. Now what happened to Lachlan Illias?
The Warriors return to the Top 4 and with final matches against Titans, Eels and Sea Eagles it is theirs to lose. Again.
In Other Games

- The Roosters are one of the form team easily defeating the highflying Bulldogs 32-12.
- The Broncos win the Battle of Brisbane against the Dolphins who were constantly called Redcliffe by the ground announcer, former Broncs players and coaches. I wonder if the Dolphins win the Battle they can be called the Brisbane Dolphins and the Broncos Red Hill?
- The Rabbits keep on winning (two in a row) against an Eels team that won every stat except the scoreboard.
- Manly have crashed out of the finals race (hooray) after another disappointing display. Now we can just focus on what DCE is doing.
- The Titans and Knights were on the receiving end of floggings by the Sharks and Cowboys and are the last teams standing for the wooden spoon. Can either team find that one win?

Another new leader. Welcome murch to the top of the ladder. Can you hold on for three more weeks?

Second Competition
More changes amongst the prizes holders.
murch is now double dipping at the top of the 2nd Competition. We all know how well that went for Wiley C.

The Second Competition has the most drastic changes. Let’s see who’s in the money next week.
Bart Simpson Weekly Jackpot

We had twelve clever Tipsters but not one clever enough to score a perfect round.
The Bart Simpson Weekly Jackpot has now rocketed up to B$20.
There are only three rounds remaining in the competition.
Risk v Reward.
As always, good luck with your team and tipping this week.
