A couple upsets and we have a new leader. Read on Tipsters for all the Happs of Round 21.
I posted an article about each team’s run home specifically playing each other to make the finals. It was all under the assumption that these teams will beat those out of contention.
Round 21 saw the top three teams victorious but the Warriors and Broncos did themselves a disservice losing against wooden spoon candidates the Titans and Eels respectively.
This opens the door for the resurgent Panthers to make the all-important top four. The Wahs still have destiny in their own hands which is not the case for the Broncos.
The Warriors looked the goods scoring twice in the opening eight minutes before going missing (yet again). The Warriors didn’t trouble the scoreboard again until the 61st minute while the Titans ran amok scoring four tries of their own. Warriors fans, players and coach must feel frustrated with how their team zones out while the Titans equivalent must be wondering why they have been so consistently inconsistent.
The Broncos campaign has officially stalled allowing the Panthers to leapfrog them on the ladder. They now have two teams above them they are reliant on losing to make the top four.
No Top 4 means no Premiership.
The Broncos are currently at full-strength but look like there are so many options they don’t know what they are doing. They are clunky and they are still not playing the long game taking shortcuts in attack and defence.
The Eels were by far the better team, but it came down to the last play of the match where the Broncos played their Hail Mary to score off an Eels error.
Except the scorer was offside (another shortcut).
The final six weeks will be an interesting watch.
