Last gasp victories that made you cheer or cry. What a finish to the round. And we have another winner, and you won’t believe who it is.
Six weeks to go Tipsters.
This round was a round of two halves. The first four matches were all comfortable runaway wins while the final four were season defining last gasp victories or loses, depending on your team or selection.
Bulldogs v Dragons

The Dragons came back from a 16-8 half time deficient to totally outplay and dominate the Bulldogs for all but the final minutes of the match. Contentious refereeing calls and Bunker overrides (just ask Coach Shane Flanagan) cruelled the Dragons with the Dogs scoring the match winner in the final two minutes.
For Dragons fans, this has been the theme of this season. The Footy Gods have other plans.
Storm v Sea Eagles

Next, we are down in bleak city for a game no one really cares about.
I have to admit, it was an entertaining mistake ridden match. Manly were by far the better team leading 16-6 until Stormer Xavier Coates scored twice in the 64th and 71st minutes to tie up the game.
It took a Manly Captains Challenge on a Luke Brookes missed field goal to win the game with Harry Grant penalised for making dangerous contact with the kicker.
And didn’t the Storm fans like that decision.
But it’s not the first time Harry Grant has lost a game in this manner.
Only three diehard Manly Tipsters picked this one.
Wests Tigers v Titans – Spoon Bowl

What a magnificent sight to see the famous Leichhardt Oval packed on a beautiful Sunday afternoon.
This was another entertaining game. I still can’t workout how the Titans keep losing these ones. They led until the final three minutes letting in a try and the match winning field goal to the eruption of the (Inner) Wests Tigers fans.
What a great way to farewell Leichhardt for 2025.
Knights v Warriors

Ah, the Footy Gods can be cruel. The Knights looked the goods against top 4 Warriors kicking the winning field goal with minutes to spare. And it all looked to be going to script with Wahs Tanah Boyd missing a field goal and a penalty in the dying moments. His final field goal attempt was charged down only for teammate Leka Halasima to pick up the ball and run 45m to score after the siren.
If you want to see it, here it is…

The Standout
Lots of games could have gone either way this week. In the end only one “real” upset meant those who tipped the Storm fell by the wayside. Also, the one Tipster who thought the Cows were sure things.
41 correct. 12 not so.
