The top teams keep on winning much like our own ladder leaders. It was a mixed round of easy wins, a comeback, and spectacular tries with most Tipsters doing well.
Blowouts

The round had a few easy straight forward wins.
Starting at Kogarah, the Dragons scored all their tries in a 16 minute period. It was a snooze fest after that for Dragons’ supporters, but a win is a win. The Knights? I still don’t know how they scored the 24 points in a half of football against the Panthers the previous week. Oh thats right, they then only scored 1 more point in the remainder of the game,
The Knights are really low but not as low as the Titans. The Storm easily accounted for then.
And then there are the Broncos. Their first outing to Brookvale in 11 years and they should have started back then to be competitive. The one thing I know about the Broncos of 2025 is that they are frontrunners but when the going gets tough.
Comeback
It was party time in North Queensland when the Cowboys led the Wests Tigers 32-6 with a little over 15 minutes remaining. But wow. The Tiges scored three times in five minutes to put an all-mighty scare in the Cows and the three Tipsters who had the Standout seemingly in the bag.
This was a great game to watch with some amazing long range and team tries.
Super Sunday

All three matches were… Super.
Not even Alex Johnsons hattrick, and breaking into the 200 try club, could stop the Wahs winning another game on the road. The Wahs hit a 14-12 lead right on halftime and never looked like losing despite the Rabbitohs spirited comeback.
AJ now only trails Ken Irvine by 12 tries to be the all-time greatest try scorer. Still plenty of rounds left this season as we approach the halfway mark.

The Panthers v Eels game was an intriguing spectacle until a 40/20 Nathan Cleary kick late in the game all but sealed their fate.
But the best game was still to come with the Raiders cementing themselves as the number one team in the competition. Take away the byes and the default two points each team receive, they are two points clear of the Bulldogs (who have had two byes).
One word best describes the Raiders. Tenacious. They are a tough team with strike power everywhere, coming back from an 18-8 deficit against a terrific Roosters side. Chook fans will lament the gap between the teams best and worst performances.
The Raiders first bye is in Round 15.

The Standout
47 correct this week. Thats 90% of all Tipsters. Those who missed out were diehard supporters. Let’s see if they remain as rusted on this week.
Main Competition
C.Y.L.C. still leads the way. But the top of the ladder is a sea of blue with no changes in any of the prize money. Just goes to show how predictable this round was and how predictable our ladder leaders are.
Here’s hoping there are some upsets this round. I like to see a bit of chaos.
Bart Simpson Weekly Jackpot

Four perfect rounds this week means the Bart Simpson Weekly Jackpot now stands at B$110.
Congratulations again to Pablo, Bart Simpson, BillyB, Matt Brownie, and Stallion for being the smartest Tipsters for Round13.
As always, good luck with your team and tipping this week.
