Footy Tipper 2025 – Round 12 Wrap

Upsets, upsets and more upsets. We have set new Footy Tipper records, but not for good reasons, and can you believe we almost had our 3rd winner of the year. Almost.

Just five matches this week and all were upsets for most Tipsters.

There was a reoccurring theme at the Doggies v ‘Phins match.

We started with the Phins outclassing the Bulldogs in the pouring rain on Thursday scoring three late tries to balloon the scorecard.

Then the Mitch-less Eels scored either side of halftime to runaway big winners against a disappointing Sea Eagles side.

Saturday, we travelled to Bathurst to see the Knights lead the Panthers 24-nil at halftime (it should have been 30 points) before both teams put the snooze on the crowd scoring 1 point and 6 points respectively. For the second time this season, the Panthers are sole cellar dwellers and look likely to stay there during the Origin period.

Is Hugo the tallest half-back in the NRL?

Next in our travels, up to Gosford where a severely depleted Roosters team dominated the full-strength Sharkies from the outset. Both young halves Sandon Smith and Hugo Savala had huge games making you wonder why the Chooks are signing DCE for next season.

Raiders Captain Joe Tapine mocks the crybaby Warriors.

Finally, it was back across the ditch where the undefeated at home Warriors played their first home game in a month to well, be defeated. This was a tough game with some bizarre errors in the pouring Auckland rain. The Raiders once again showed why they are top four material.

How did these results effect our competition?

Well, what can I say. It’s all in the numbers. If you think you had a bad round, you are not the only one. We have our 1st -2 score of the season which is difficult in itself and 22 Tipsters managed this feat. This is unheard of in 27 years of Footy Tipper history.

We also welcome back gdadisho into the prize money jumping 10 places with a round score of 5.

Bart Simpson Weekly Jackpot

With all the mayhem that occurred this round, how many knew we had a live card in the final match. Great effort Shagger, if only the Wahs got up for you.

The Bart Simpson Weekly Jackpot hits triple figures and now stands at B$100.

Wednesday night is State of Origin. Please keep in mind some players will not back up through suspension and injury when making your selections.

As always, good luck with your team and tipping this week.

Go the Blues!
