Footy Tipper 2025 – Round 11 Wrap

Upsets, close finishes and so many tries of the year. It’s another great round of rugby league.

Upsets? They are only upsets if you didn’t pick them. And there were a few biggies this round starting with the Eels decimation of the Knights, the Stinkies win over the Cows and the Dragons winning against the Broncos.

The Dragons win went to the final play but there were so many close finishes this week your tips could have gone either way.

And how about some of the tries?

  • Api Koroisau 90m run and step past Latrell.
  • Jacob Liddle 90m run and goosestep of Ezra.
  • The flick pass by Sharks Siosifa Talakai.
  • Xavier Coates 2m leap to catch and touchdown for the Storm.

The Real Deals

Winners are grinners.

The Bulldogs and Raiders continue to impress. Their match-up in the previous round showed what both teams are capable of, and both teams were great again this week.

The Doggies came back from 14-nil against a strong Roosters team having to twice claim the lead with a try at the death to claim victory.

This was one of the best games of the season with some fantastic tries but none better than Roosters Mark N’s effort below.

Try of the Round

The Raiders showed their class again. Everything they do just seems faster than any other team.

Fans of both teams should get excited as we enter the Origin period as their representation will be less than the powerhouses of Storm, Broncos and Panthers.

Speaking of which…

Off Their Perches

The Broncos have slumped to their 5th loss in six matches failing to stop the Dragons from scoring twice when they were reduced to 12 men.

That 10-minute period was the turning point that allowed the Dragons back into the game. The Dragons had a grinding gameplan from the outset waiting to take advantage of the Broncosโ€™ shortcuts.

And they did. The Dragons were in total control in the second half but, as so often happened this season, invited the Broncos back into the game. It came down to the last play of the game stopping Adam Reynolds in his tracks to secure victory.

For the Dragons, King Saint Gutho had a blinder while the Broncos Ezra Mam was a class of his own and will be welcomed back despite the boos and jeers.

Try of the year? Certainly, the leap of the year.

The Storm have also fallen to their win-loss, win-loss cycle against the Sharks. This game also went down to the last play, but the Sharks were easily deserving victors here.

The Broncos, Panthers and Storm will benefit with a couple byes during the Origin period. The Storm are entrenched in the Top 4 but both the Broncos and Panthers are looking shaky. The next six weeks will be crucial.

The Standout

If you tipped the Raiders (like almost 2/3rd of Tipsters) you did well. The biggest losers were those who tipped the Broncos, Storm and Cowboys. But you’d already know this from our Round 11 Stats and Live Ladder โ€“ Footy Tipper

Main Competition

To the naked eye not much changed with our ladder leaders, besides Wiley C and Seano swapping places, but the reality is all Tipsters in the prize money are each separated by 1 win in every place. This is a tinderbox ready to explode. One mistake and well… Goodbye!

Bart Simpson Weekly Jackpot

Our leading Tipsters for this round didn’t get close to a perfect round.

The Bart Simpson Weekly Jackpot now stands at B$90.

It’s Origin time so there are only five matches this round. Please be aware the teams will be missing their NSW and Queensland stars.

Good luck with your team and tipping this week.
