Comebacks. That field goal. The draw. Storm’s 64-0 thrashing of the Tigers. The Bulldogs may remain top of the ladder, but things are a little different in our competition.
The round started with the Eels v ‘Phins where all the real action was in the last 10 minutes and ended with maulings from the Storm (64-0) and Sharks (30-14).
It must be Origin time.
But it was the games in-between that stood out.
The Comebacks

There were a lot of exciting games where comebacks played a major role.
The Knights led the Titans 20-nil part way through the 1st half only to see the Titans win 24-20.
The Warriors kicked the winning field goal after the Dragons clawed back from a 14-nil deficit. The Dragons scored more tries but it was wayward kicking that cost them.
For fans, it’s the Dragons third one-point loss of the season. Add the 12 point try turnaround against the Wests Tigers and the Dragons could have been sitting in second spot.
But the bigger comebacks where still to come.
Raiders v Bulldogs

This was the comeback of the round.
1st v 2nd and at halftime, I was thinking what a great Saturday afternoon for Raiders fans enjoying their team on top 20-nil in glorious autumn sunshine.
The Raiders had 63% of the possession and were all over the mistake riddled Bulldogs.
Coach Ricky was smiling.
Little did we know possession would swing the other way as the Bulldogs errors dried up and 0 (zero) line breaks became seven in a blink of an eye.
I don’t know what was more concerning/impressive. The fact the Dogs scored 32 unanswered points or the way the Raiders defensive systems fell apart.
These teams won’t face off again until the Finals.
Bulldogs Captain, Stephen Crichton, had a blinder in the second half tearing the Raiders defence to shreds.
It must be Origin time.
Bunnie Boil-over

Two words. Latrell Mitchell!
Broncos fans, players and coaching staff will all be scratching their heads how they capitulated a 14-point lead. While Bunnies fans will be amazed at their Captain Latrell Mitchell’s efforts and wonder where this has been all season.
Latrell was magnificent in defence and attack. And that field goal! Having the ball passed to him on his own side of halfway, two paces and over she goes for two points.
It must be Origin time.
The Draw

30 points apiece means this was not a high standard defensive game between the Premiers(4x) and the Cowboys. But it was sure entertaining to watch.
- The Panthers failing to ice the game.
- The Cowboys coming back from 12 point deficits twice and failing to convert multiple field goal chances.
But I could tell late in the 1st half of golden point where this was heading. Our first draw of the season (and the 19th in 169 golden point matches) which means every Tipster recorded a loss.
I know. But who would have picked it?

The Standout
Not a single Tipster backed the Wests Tigers to beat the Storm yet the Storm Standouts were shy of 80%.
I thought this was a no brainer but Tipsters are still going 2nd choice Standouts, like the Broncos, including our leader of six weeks C.Y.L.C. which means…
Main Competition
We have a new leader.
Rossco the Pom leapfrogs C.Y.L.C. by one point into 1st place. But how long will this last? C.Y.L.C. holds a superior Diff score. Good luck Rossco!
Continuing the swapsies at the top of the ladder we had another three up and three down and welcome Ad to the money for the first time this season.
Farewell murch and MB for now.
