I know it’s only Round One but what a start to the season. Big scores, bigger crowds, a sponsor, the red biro is already out, and we have our 1st prize winner.
Heavy Weights Flex Their Muscles

The Storm and Broncos join the Panthers as true Premiership contenders. Not just for the 50+ point scores but how effortlessly they looked in the opening round. Now add Manly and you could almost call the top four teams now.
No one else can win it. But it is only Round one.
In the other games, the Dragons, Wests Tigers, Dolphins are all teams that could have (and wanted to) win the opener but fell short at the expense of the Dogs, Knights and Rabbitohs.
All of these six teams would have penciled in a win when they first looked at the draw.
Big Crowds

And if the games weren’t big enough, the fans certainly showed up this weekend.
Big crowds at Campbelltown and Melbourne. Sell out Saturday at Kogarah and Brookvale. Fans came out in force to welcome in the 2025 season.
The Dreaded Red Pen
I can’t remember a season where the red pen has come out in the 1st round.
Roosters and Eels fans can start their Mad Monday preparations now after both teams conceded cricket scores. All Premiership credentials have been blown out of the water once the magic 50-point mark was reached.
Is it too early to contemplate 2026? Nope.

Bart Simpson Weekly Jackpot

Welcome our Sponsor. If you haven’t already read the announcement, you can do so here .
And we are not wasting any time handing out Bart’s sponsorship money. In week one we already have a winner.
Congratulations Robert Cook for being the smartest Tipster of 2025 (so far).
I know it’s only $10 but it will go a long way to buying a frosty Duff beer at Moes.
Round 2 Match Highlights
Wow. Round one is done and dusted. Before I know it, the Blues will have won Origin, and the Broncos will be Minor Premiers.
The match of this round is the Raiders v Broncos down at GIO Stadium, Canberra. The Broncos start favourites but the winner of this match will go a long way to finals glory
Yes, I know, it’s only Round Two.
Sunday sees the Spoon-bowl rematch between the Eels and Wests Tigers. Your guess is as good as mine in this match.
This is followed by the Bulldogs v Titans at Belmore Sports Ground. There are some tickets still available but not for long especially after the Bulldogs impressive win against the Dragons.
To all Tipsters, good luck with your tipping this round.
Keep an eye out for the prizes breakdown to be released later this week as well as the Round 2 Live Ladder to download on Friday.
Please make sure you submit/send in your tips before the cut-off or you will be disappointed.
