Winner, Winner!
Our 1st chicken dinner of the season. Who is this masterful Tipster?
I will leave the announcement to Pablo below.
Sharks Big Scalp
The Cronulla Sharks remain at the top of the NRL ladder with their first win in Melbourne in six years. And this was all without their star half Nicho Hynes.
The game itself was a tight affair with the Sharks and Storm trading tries before Sharks five-eighth, Dan Atkinson nailed a crucial field goal and former NSW Blues Siosifa Talakai scored from the ensuing kick-off.
However, referees will once again take focus with the crucial sinbinning of Storm captain Harry Grant for an innocuous touch on a kicker. In my eyes that is all well and good, but the referees need to be consistent and always make this a sin-bin-able offence. More on this later.
Which leads me to…
Saucer of Milk?
The players, again, aren’t helping themselves by milking penalties.
I watched the Dolphins’ Herbie Farnworth writhing in pain, with what was obviously a season ending leg injury, immediately jump up looking for a quick tap restart after being awarded the penalty.
Even an Englishman knows what un-Australian means.
Injury Crisis
Is this the NSW Blues’ chances hobbling off the field? There are some big signings sidelined impacting most clubs. None more than the Rabbitohs with 10 players missing.
And there are many Origin certainties in that extended list.
None bigger than Nathan Cleary, Tom Trbojevic, Nicho Hynes, Ryan Papenhuyzen, Mitchell Moses, Clint Gutherson, Haumole Olakau’atu and more missing for the mighty Blues.
And some others missing for the perennial underdog cane toads. Yawn.
Injuries, suspensions, SOO commitments will put pressure on each club’s depth. Let’s see where the NRL competition front-runners sit after Round 20.
SOO I kicks off in just over three weeks.

Magic Round
Round 11 is Magic Round, one of the highlights of the NRL calendar. So hit the play button above for our full “Magic Round Experience” and read on Tipster.
All teams are playing at Suncorp Stadium starting with a double header Friday and triple headers Saturday and Sunday.
For those fortunate enough to have tickets to any of these days, enjoy the footy fest.
Once again, the Suncorp home teams of the Broncos and Dolphins are in the away sheds meaning they effectively play another home game. Who said the draw is biased?
For those south of the border, there is the BeerFootyFood festival at North Sydney Oval in what doubles as Magic Round for The Knock-On Effect NSW Cup. You can check out details below.
In Other Games
- Manly just keep finding ways to lose (hooray!). Poor Luke Brooks will miss finals again.
- Heavyweights, the Panthers, Broncos and Roosters continue on their merry way.
- The Cowboys proved you only need to play the final five minutes to beat the Titans. Unfortunately for the Cows, they only managed to play four of those minutes
- The Titans victory cements the Rabbitohs at the bottom of the ladder as the only team to have won just one match this season.

Footy Tipper Weekly Jackpot
We have our first winner. Well done and congratulations to Westy. He picks up the tidy $100 . So for the rest of us, we are now looking at winning $10 for Magic Round 11.
Good luck with your tips this week.
Rob and Paul
What a load of crap, late contact, Harry Grant.
Getting like netball.
If this is case, let’s hope they are consistent going forward and all late contacts get 10 minute sin bin.
What a way to lose a game!
