Footy Tipper 2024 Round 2 Wrap

If Round 1 lived up to its reputation as difficult, then Round 2 was back to the norm.

But how good was a norm round? After two rounds the cream is already rising to the top.

We have the following undefeated teams leading the competition with a lot of favourites one win behind.

The Raiders hit the lead. How many of these teams did you expect here?

Las Vegas Continues

It was a Latrell and Reece love in.

The Vegas start is the gift that keeps on giving with all teams playing the other side of that draw.

Starting with the losing teams, Broncos v Rabbitohs, then the winners Sea Eagles v Roosters.

The difference between the winning and losing teams was evident for all to see. The Brocs v Bunnies was really a battle of the fullbacks. Both teams were sluggish in the season opener. Not much changed, but the home team managed to win.

In comparison, the Sea Eagles v Roosters game was far higher quality. It was also the tightest match for Tipsters to predict this round.

Round 3 doesn’t look much easier for the Vegas crew:

  • Broncos away to the Panthers
  • Likewise, the Bunnies v Roosters, and;
  • Sea Eagles v Eels

Super Saturday “is” Super Saturday

The magician known as Xavier Coates about to break Warrior fan’s hearts.

The 1st Golden Point of 2024 took only two rounds. The Knights led the Cowboys until the final four minutes when the game was forced into golden point. To say this was not exciting? Well, the Cows were clinical. One drive and boom, field goal to win.

That game was not as dramatic as the following where the Warriors had all but won, leading by 8 points, with less than 3 minutes remaining against the Storm.

We all know what happened. But that last try where Xavier Coates scored diving into the corner from 30m out has been touted as the try of the century.

Ok, maybe I exaggerated about the length of the dive. The commentators distance kept growing like Pinocchio’s nose in a paradox meme.

But certainly, the try is one of those jaw dropping moments in time and a highlight of the season.
