A must read is The Creators article “It’s the Final Week” where the “how’s”, “why’s” and “what if” scenarios for Round 27 are eloquently explained. But as a precursor to that ………a couple of last weekends games were key to setting up great final round of regulation footy.
The Broncos win over the Raiders (aka the “frauds”) 29 – 18, sees them take the lead of the 2023 competition with 1 match to play. The battle for the JJ Giltinan Shield comes down to the last two games.
The Knights ensured their spot in the finals with their 32 – 6 win over the Sharks. That win marks 8 straight for the Novocastrians – with only the Dragons to play, that will likely increase to 9 straight wins. The Sharks loss leaves them in a precarious position having to now win their match against the aforementioned lime green Frauds.
The Roosters got their bonus 2 points with their big win over the Tigers 32 – 8. The Bunnies got their two points courtesy of the bye. Both teams meet next weekend to see who goes on, and who goes on to Mad Monday.
Finally, the Cowboys 34 – 10 victory over the Dolphins keeps their fans interested for round 27. Okay, they are playing the Panthers who have a lot riding on the game, but at least there is some hope.

Big Baba is coming back to the field. His lead is now a mere 2 points after a disappointing round of 7. TheZipZipMan increased his wallet share of the prize pool by $180 by taking 2nd place with a score of 9. I Miss Benji falls back to 3rd place but with a 2 point buffer on Guru2810.
2nd Chance Competition
This one is close. 9986 has assumed 1st place by the most slender of margins – 2 points – a mere penalty goal, or conversion, or 2 point field goal. That leaves Stallion and Cruella in 2nd and 3rd places respectively. PabloW is only 1 point off taking the 3rd spot from Cruella (worth $30). As Rob would say – Risk vs Reward.
