As the Panthers and Broncos continue on their merry way to a top 4 spot, the battle is still happening in the fight for a top 8 berth. The Knights surprise win over the Raiders (28 – 6) sees them move into 9th spot on 25 points. Only 15% of tippers got that one right. Manly now sit just below them after for/against following their win over the Dragons (24 – 18).
The Dogs close win over the Dolphins (23 – 22) will probably see them avoid the wooden spoon – and at the same time it has probably ended the Dolphins chance of making the semis in their inaugural year.
But the killer upset of the week was the Titans win over the Cowboys (22 – 13). Going into the last game of the round, there was the chance that our weekly fullcard jackpot of $90 was going to be won. We had 1 tipper willing on the Cowboys to redeem his lacklustre season. I nearly cried at full time – the gods are clearly against me. Special mention to Robert (Bob) Cook, who also managed 7 from 8 this week.
Anyway, I’m looking forward to watching the Australians not just retain the Ashes, but win the series outright tonight. I’m also hoping that the Matildas win their match against the Canadians to make the next stage of their hunt for the world cup.
