Wrap Footy Tipper 2023 – Round 13

The Dragons hunt for the Wooden spoon remains on track with their loss to the Dolphins 26 – 12 in Redcliffe on Thursday night. Isaako made his mark (in his 100th game) scoring 18 of the Dolphins 26 points. The first of his 2 tries triggered an onslaught of 18 points in 6 minutes from Waynes mob.  The win keeps the Dolphins in the top 8 on 16 points. The decision to have Jack de Belin captaining the Dragons to me was a curious one – his discipline regularly goes walkabout in matches. No doubt he plays hard, but despite that you can’t you’re your captain in the shed for 10 minutes.

“Oh dear, what have I done? This won’t go well in the post-match conference.”

After that game I didn’t really watch any other footy this weekend. This time of year really bores me ; reduced matches, players stood down for State of Origin duties, etc.

It was nice to see Stinky Manly get done by the Knights though. It was sort of to be expected with half the Manly side out for SOO. The TV was on in the background and I did see the score as 18 all with about 20minutes to play. My interest was briefly piqued. Two snappy tries to the Knights had the Silvertails cooked.

See it’s really not fair that teams have to field an understrength team just to complete “the round” (and a truncated round at that) – why not just have 17 teams have the bye week? Oh well, it was Manly …..so who cares?

Main Competition

TheZipZipMan and Big Baba continue to exchange blows at the top of the table. This weeks victor – The ZipZipMan with a 6 pointer reassumes the lead of the comp. Guru2810 holds on to 3rd place, some 4 points behind the main protagonists.

The Standout

  • Standouts wrong – 10(9 of these were on the Rabbits)
  • The average score –  4.32 (shortened round of course)
  • Our round high – 9 – a fullcard to 1 punter YES – 1 punter
  • Our round low was – Zero

So with just 5 games to get right you would have thought that more tippers would have scored the perfect 9 points…. but no…. ONLY 1 tipper did it. Congratulations UpThePamfers who takes the $20 jackpot prize.
