Wrap Footy Tipper 2023 – Round 12

The NRL marked Round 12 as Indigenous round – a weekend of heightened awareness of our First Nations history and culture. There is a long history of indigenous players participating in the competition and I personally love seeing the “greatest teams” that so called league experts come up with. Truly, some of the players that make those lists are absolute legends.

West Tigers fans are still celebrating their teams MASSIVE win over the Cowboys 66 – 18. Eleven Tigers players got their names on the scorecard. Eight players shared in the 11 of their tries. It has to be the upset of the season – not so much that they beat the Cowboys, but just how convincing the win was. It was big enough to get them off the bottom of the ladder on for and against to leapfrog the Dragons ……..

The Dragons also had a desperately needed win over the Roosters in the final seconds of their match 24 – 22. New (interim) coach Ryan Carr spent his first week teaching Zac Lomax how to kick penalties and conversions. He managed 4/5 goal attempts. In weeks gone past he would have missed 4 of those and cost the Dragons the points. It was a spiteful encounter too with head butts, chicken wings, hip drops, high shots, nipple pinches, full nelson atomic drops, tilt-a-whirl headscissor takesdowns etc …..It will cost some players potential spots in the upcoming SOO series.

Seems Sportbets were right last week having Saints at $201afterall !! Go figure. !!!

The Eels late flurry against the Rabbits also would have had punters scratching their heads. Four unanswered tries in the last 30 minutes saw them overpower the bunnies to prevail 36 – 16. The loss cost the Rabbits the chance of being sole leaders of the NRL ladder.
I lauded the Raiders last week for managing their 5th consecutive win, but they came crashing back to earth after being humiliated by Stinky Manly 42 – 14.

Here are all the results from round 12 ;

Main Competition

We have a new leader!! Big Baba now heads the table on 75 points with a differential lead from TheZipZipMan in 2nd place. Guru2810 crashed and burned with a poor round of just 1 point and now sits 4 points behind in 3rd spot. PabloW (not me) rocketed up 4 places and into 4th place.
