Congratulations to the Penrith Panthers for taking out the Battle of the West and winning back to back premierships.

The Eels and their fans had a lot to be optimistic about in the GF but, no team was going to beat the Panthers.

The Panthers dominated the Eels throughout the match leading 18 nil at halftime with 61% possession and with 20 tackles in the oppositions red zone (20m). The Eels had not been tackled in the Panthers 20m once.

The final 28 – 12 score flattered the Eels as they scored two consolation tries in the final four minutes

The Panthers were outstanding and if anyone is questioning the Panther dynasty to come, look at what they are doing in the lower grades.

They are the first team in history to win premierships in the top four grades.

• Harold Matthews Cup

Add to this, winning:

• The J.J Giltinan Shield for the Minor Premiership
• NRL State Championship against Qld Cup holders, Norths Devils

The trophy cupboard is full and fans at the foot of the mountains have a reason to be excited.

The Winners

Ultimately, nothing changed.

• DaveM started with a 2 point margin and extended it to 3 over The Creator.
• Admireel tipped his beloved Eels, just like most of you in contention, and was not challenged.

Thank you again Tipsters for indulging Team Tipper in running the UFTC for 2022. It’s been a long season and we are looking forward to our own version of Mad Monday.
