Cut-off Times for this week…
Friday 11th June 2021 – Sea Eagles vs Cowboys 6:00pm AEST
Tips will not be accepted after this time.
So for split round 13 we saw only 4 matches played, and for tippers that makes for a good chance to jag the full card.
But unless you fluked tipping Wests (which only 13 tippers did), your chances were dashed on Friday night. Sure, Penrifff were down 7 key players due to State of Origin commitments, but it was Wests !?! In the end the Tigers, much to the pleasure of their die hard (and sometimes unforgiving) fans, prevailed 26 – 6 – spoiling the Panthers chance of an undefeated year.
Dragons fans turned out in their THOUSANDS to Netstrata Jubilee Okey Dokey Stadium Kogarah (well 5,000 anyway) to welcome back De Belin to the NRL – that’s right Jacks Back. Forced into the wilderness by the NRL for 2.5 years (993 days). He only played 26 minutes on Thursday night, but already Saints fans are rejoicing as their team went on to well deserved 52 – 24 win over the cellar dweller Broncos. Eight players scored tries in their 9 try to 4 victory, but it was Matt Dufty leading the way. In a post-match interview, Anthony Giffen might well have recited Gough Whitlams famous speech on the steps of Parliament 1975 “Well may we say God Save the Queen, because nothing is going to save Matt Dufty” (who is off contract at the end of the season).
In other matches ;
- The Storm were unimpressive in their win over the Titans 20 – 14, but a win is a win and it puts them only 2 points behind the Panthers.
- The Eels unsurprisingly rolled the Knights 40 – 4. Given their hot and cold form of late, they should be pleased with the 2 points because it keeps them in 3rd place on the ladder.
The Standout
- 51 – got it right.
- 15 – got it wrong.
- The average score – 4.33
- Our round high was 8 (full card). Well done to the 9 tippers who achieved that milestone.
- Our round low was – -1
