- The Eels and Panthers continue with their great starts to the season with only one loss each to date. This has them 1st and 2nd on the ladder. The Panthers did it easily over the Bunnies 20 – 12. While the Eels had a tight match, prevailing in the end with a golden point win over the Raiders 25 – 24.
The Big Upsets (for tippers).
- The Knights slayed by the Cowboys 20 – 32 (71 tippers WRONG)
- The Sea Eagles mauled by the Sharks 22 – 40 (60 tippers WRONG – and 3 standouts WRONG)
- The Broncos humiliated by the Titans 12 – 30 (68 tippers WRONG). Broncos were booed off the field on Saturday. Pitiful, diabolic, pathetic were some of the words used by Bronco faithful following the result. Worst start in 21 years. Yet Seibold’s position is still secure ….. but for how long ?
In other matches :
- The Roosters may have had a relatively easy win over the Dragons 26 – 12, but it may have come at a cost. The chance of a “3peat” may have been dealt a massive blow with critical injuries to several players. With 2/3 of the comp still to be played, just how deep is their stock of reserves ?
- The Tigers move quietly into 6th place after an easy (and expected) win over the Bulldogs 34 – 6.
- The change of coach did absolutely NUFFN to improve the hopes of the Warriors. They were destroyed by the Storm 50 – 6 on Friday night.
