It’s the penultimate round. What have our ladder leaders picked this week?

Two rounds to go and some key games to finalise the top 4 and top 8. There are also rule changes and farewells to tak into account

Broncos v Storm

Last year’s grand finalists and this year’s has-beens kick-off the round with a farewell (of sorts) to future Broncos immortal, Adam Reynolds.

A lot has been said about the reasons why he has not been selected for the final home game of 2027. Is it evil Madge’s doing? Was it Adam’s call? Who knows.

This game will also trial a new kick-off rule where the team that has been scored against gets to choose whether to kick-off or receive the kick. Ho-hum, the team will elect to receive every time.

Titans v Rabbitohs

Another rule change. Well, an extra interchange for the Bunnies will see Jai Arrow break the 100-match record over the final two rounds.

Jai will walk out with the team and walk off as a free interchange after the kick-off. This is a lovely gesture from all parties involved.

Finals Positions

Joining the Rabbitohs, the Panthers v Bulldogs, Roosters v Dolphins and Wahs v Knights are all critical games as to where each team might finish up.

It’s possible the minor premiership could come down to how much the Wahs and Panthers (not so much, Roosters) win by.

The Sea Eagles and Sharks also need wins to remain in the contest.

Spoon Bowl

The Spoon could all be determined this week. For it to come to a last round shootout, the Dragons must beat Manly and watch the Bunnies do a number on the Titans.

Otherwise, the Spoon is heading to the Gong. No, not Kogarah.
