I am so tired of those cynical, patronising cane toad lovers at this time of year.
Everyone of them waxes lyrically about the power of their jersey. That nobody south of the border can comprehend what Origin means.
I watched Qld F.O.G. Gordon Tallis talk down his nose like a school teacher, “Lil’ Blue is going good”, until NSW F.O.G. Benny Elias dare state that NSW will win SOO II in Queensland.
Raging Bull then raged “Yoooov’s never done it before! Yoooov’s never done it before!”
I smell fear. Fear of losing the unlosable match.
Remember when all Origin matches were played in Queensland during COVID?
I bet Queenslanders do.
In Game 1, NSW owned all stats coming back from 10-nil down to lead until the final 10 minutes. It was poor team selections by Monsieur’s Fittler and Alexander that cost NSW the win.
And it shows, with changes in game two. Yes, injuries have forced some, but there is definitely a change of thought process for the bench and hooker position.
Nathan Cleary’s omission is also a godsend, gifting Mitch Moses the opportunity to shine.
So worried are those cane toads, the acrobat DCE put his neck on the line by taunting Moses.
Backflip, we laugh at you.
And those who bagged and demanded Teddy to be dropped. Who ran 217metres in Game 1?
It is the unlosable Origin match. Queensland will hold up the shield… or… ha…ha,ha,ha…
Good luck to both camps. I am looking forward to the decider in two weeks.
