Origin III Preview – Late Mail – Queensland Correspondent

Unlike my NSW correspondent, I won’t resort to what he did in his last article after I submitted my article first.

Putting BS aside, it is interesting that the boys have been hovering around Sanctuary Cove, waiting for the main event on Wednesday.  The word was around, well the rumour that Munster were out and a couple of days later, he was.  Devastating.

Its easy to be man of the match when there are only 12 players on the field.  I only hope that common sense prevails and we have 13 men on the field for the entire 80 minutes for the love of the game.  I find it remarkable that my learned colleague accepts a win when the opposition only has 12 men on the field.  You make of that what you will.

NSW certainly have the back line, but what really matters is an entire teams performance.  I have watched the boys at Sanctuary Cove this past week and I can say, “Nothing”.  I am sworn to secrecy.

The decider is being played at the Cauldron and NSW has only won a decider there twice since SOO started in 1980.  This maybe the side that breaks the hoodoo.

Unlike my learned NSW correspondent, I am not in favour of gambling.  But I will wager he is too gutless to place any money on NSW.

I really can’t believe what I am reading with my NSW correspondent, he is praising up QLD, and notwithstanding his last sentence, my reading of his article is that QLD will win and win well.

As I said I am not a gambler, but if I was watching the game tomorrow I will be on the edge of my seat, like I was for the first 35 minutes of Game 2.  I won’t be watching the game as I will be in an airplane travelling back home to Sanctuary Cove, the home of the Queensland Maroons.

Giddy up fellow punters and all the best.
