Welcome Back Class of 2022.
Get excited Tipsters!
It is round one so all teams and all tipsters are created equal. Although, some are more equal than others. 25 rounds will determine which teams are the real deal. More importantly it will determine who here takes out our major prizes.
Contenders and Pretenders
Here is my annual “egg on face” moment were I predict the final standings of the 2022 Competition.
What I do know? There are only ever a maximum of six teams that can win the competition. Having said that, only the top four can actually win it. The rest… well…
Before a whistle is blown. Before a ball has been kicked… Here are my predictions.
Top 4 (here is your pick of 2022 Premiers):
- Panthers
- Storm
- Roosters
- Eels
Followed by…
- Sea Eagles
- Rabbitohs
That’s it!
Who else makes the top eight? It’s easier to pinpoint who won’t:
- West Tigers
- Cowboys
- Warriors
- Broncos
- Bulldogs
- Knights
You can start celebrating your Mad Monday now.
This leaves the Raiders, Dragons, Sharks, and Titans to battle out the final two spots.
But what do I know? There is a reason I haven’t won this tipping competition for years.
It is a long season, anything can impact your team, or rivals chances. COVID outbreaks, injuries, suspensions, and BBQs.
Let’s see what an expert I am at the end of the season.
2022 Rule changes
One thing about the Peter V’Landys’ version of the NRL is they are not afraid to implement new rules without the coaches interfering input. Season 2022 sees two major rule changes with the six again and concussion interchanges.
Pete V obviously is a devoted reader of our articles and decided to implement penalties for infringements in the attacking teams 40m. As I stated in my last rant of 2021.
The other change is to the free interchange for high shot penalties. They can now only happen if the player is placed on report. Monsieur’s Bellamy and Robinson will have to work out new strategies to bend these rules.

Finally, Latrell Speaks
“I don’t think I need to [change the way I play], I think the game needs to change,” Mitchell told Nine News.
Asked if the aggression has gone out of the NRL, a smiling Mitchell said, “I don’t know, we may as well play Oztag”.
Clown!
Good luck to your team and your tipping this week.

Well well well. I have submitted my leaderboard immediately. It was not up this week. When will this be registered on my account. I dare say that this is required for all players wanting to easily find there mates below them, that’s if they can be seen. I can’t see either of “The Creator” or “Pablo”, are they in the competition this year. I hope so.
