The cream has risen to the top. Except it was already there.
It’s Teams 1 v 2 in this year’s premiership decider and it will be an absolute blockbuster.
The Panthers
The Minor Premiers are the new kids on the block and have lost only one match all season. After defeating the reigning premiers the Roosters by one point, the Panthers were too strong against a fast finishing Rabbitohs to book their place in the big dance.
For the Rabbitohs and their supporters, the 2014 Premiership must feel an eon ago. It is now three consecutive years where the Bunnies have fallen one game short of the final.
The Storm
Melbourne (AKA Sunshine Coast Storm) play in their fourth GF in five years. Their road to the final saw a comfortable win against the Eels before flexing their might and blowing the Raiders off the park.
This match may well be Storm Capt/Coach/Referees’ Boss, Cam Smith’s final game. Will there be a champagne farewell for the champion?
Our Competition
Only three Tipsters remain on a perfect card and there are eight others waiting for them to fall at the final hurdle.
One thing I can (almost) guarantee is not all three leaders will tip the same winner. Something has to give.
Good luck with your final tip of 2020. Your guess is as good as mine. Well, probably better.
Good luck to the Panthers and the Storm.
For supporters of both these teams, enjoy the week.
The Creator
Cam wont retire yet. He will want a fairy tale ending in 2021 (irrespective of the result in 2020). He’ll want to farewell his supporters in their last home game in Melbourne, have the tickertape parade down Bourke St etc,,,, Would love to see the Penny Panthers win it, but my money is riding on the Storm by 12.
Just as well the Todd Greenberg run NRL sanctioned a testimonial at the start of 2018 and flicked Mrs S a diamond ring in 2019.
It’s been a three year farewell, and counting…
