“The South Sydney cult hero Zbignew Niszczot was unanimously voted the ugliest player of the early 1980s. By ugly I don’t mean tough, I mean butt ugly in appearance (his mother was the first to vote).

He was up against some stiff competition in the ugliness stakes too – the likes of players such as Graeme Wynn, John Ribot and Phil Sigsworth.

It is rumoured that Google was asked to remove photos of him their platform because they were scaring children.”

“I remember getting this footy card and thinking what a cool name.

  • “Tough as Teak”… nothing is as tough as that.
  • “Has a knack of escaping injury”… now that is a trait every player would be envious to have.

I think Pablo is being a bit harsh, in a past life he could have been the 5th Musketeer. Especially with the traits listed on his footy card.

Being a lot younger than Pablo, I don’t recall much of Ziggy’s career. But, any player that represented the Rabbitohs and Blues must be awesome.”
