The Big News

VNRL: Cam smooth kicks 3 field goals in the Storms loss to the Rabbitohs. What the hell was he thinking !?!

Melbourne Storm were handed a humiliating loss at the hands of the boys from La Perouse. Down 28 – 0 at half time, Anthony Seibold pulled the aging Cam Smith aside and explained to him that they needed to improve 3 points ; our kicking game, our completion rate and defence around the ruck.  It is reported that Cam heard this as “We need 3 points” so he promptly went out and kicked three field goals in the opening 5 minutes of the second half. Clearly pleased with himself, he gave the thumbs up to Seibold in the stands after kicking the third FG. Needless to say, Seibold hooked him in the 6th minute of the match. The Storm went down 35 – 3.   

The other results from the weekend ;

  • The Knights handed the Cowboys their first loss of the season in a tight tussle 20 – 17
  • The Raiders inflict another setback on the Sea Eagles chances for the 2020 premiership beating them 31 – 13. The Raiders are looking good with 4 wins from 4 starts
  • The Tigers deflated the Warriors egos handing them a 40 – 19 pasting.
  • The Sharks had their first win of the season winning  in  a close one against the Bulldogs 25 -20  
  • The Broncos hammered the previously unbeaten Panthers 40 – 5
  • The Dragons woes continue being dealt a 28 – 3 drubbing at the hands of the ladder leading Eels
  • The Roosters finally broke their duck for 2020 beating the absolutely useless Titans at home. BUT it was close only getting up 20 – 17 ! Rumours of the Titans relocating to Newtown are unfounded. They also don’t want them.
