Rob’s Rant – In my opinion, the NRL has always been a reactive beast. For the past few weeks the NRL has had a coronavirus counter plan, without ever stating what that plan is.
Over the weekend, the NRL has been forced to react to the Federal and New Zealand Governments’ protection of its people.
The current strategy? All options are still on the table and it is literally a week by week proposition.
All we know is Round 2 will continue.
Here at Footy Tipper, we can handle any curve ball thrown by the coronavirus. Here is how we will treat changes made by the NRL.
The NRL 2020 season is cancelled
Prizes will be paid out only if we complete more than half the competition (i.e. 13 completed rounds). Otherwise, all registration fees will be refunded.
The NRL cancels a round
- Prizes will be paid regardless of the number of rounds completed
- All Tipsters will score 0 points
- The Weekly Jackpot will continue to accumulate
The NRL cancels a game
This will be treated the same as a bye round with Perfect Rounds and Weekly Jackpot prizes available.
Second Competition
This is run for the final 10 rounds of the competition and will continue, if it still makes sense. Otherwise prize money will be redirected back to the Main Competition.
Weekly Jackpot
The Weekly Jackpot will continue. However, payouts will be suspended until it is clear the competition is to continue.
Regardless of what happens this season, all registration fees will be returned as prizes, or, just returned.
Please ensure you use the latest Tipsheet for any changes to the schedule and please stay safe.
